It’s a cool Thursday morning, and Dan Bierman is up with the sun. He pours himself a hot cup of coffee and walks out onto a nearby boat dock. Looking out at the rising sun’s reflection on Green Lake, he takes a deep breath. At his feet he spots a small, flat stone. He picks it up and swiftly sidearms it out onto the lake, watching it skip along the water causing ripples with each jump.
The Cornerstone of His Youth
Dan grew up with Green Lake. He has spent his whole life on its shores. As a young boy, he learned to swim and water ski on this lake. During his junior high school years, Dan and a friend would load a lawnmower into the back of his modest boat and motor to different houses along the lake to groom their neighbor’s yards. When he was older, he met his wife Debra, in Green Lake, and today the two of them spend time boating in their pride-and-joy, an antique Chris-Craft called “Foolish Pleasure” when they aren’t working to assist clients/customers.
A Source of Inspiration
Back on the dock, Dan holds his coffee cup with two hands to stay warm. During these private, quiet moments, he can’t help but reflect on the important role this lake has played in his life – and how pleased he is that its impact, like the ripples created by that skipping stone, will continue. Dan’s roots here are firm, both personally and professionally.
A resident of Green Lake for more than five decades, he has no inkling or desire to live anyplace else. And as one of the area’s most successful real estate professionals, Dan is committed to carrying on the reputation his father established during his own lengthy real estate career in this area.
Back to His Roots
Dan’s work has helped him to establish countless friendships over the years, and to carry on the relationship with the houses he used to spend his summers maintaining. That’s right – Dan has helped some Green Lake residents buy or sell the houses attached to the same lawns he used to mow as a youngster. “Not long ago, a family I was working with was interested in one particular house,” Dan says. “It just so happens that I was able to give them some special insight on the house because when I was a kid I used to swim off their pier and water ski off their dock. My dad even sold that home to the previous owners”.
A Bright Reflection
Just as the lake has helped to shape Dan’s life, so does the legacy his father left behind. Dan and his brother, Orlo, have taken over Lake Real Estate, the organization their father founded more than 57 years ago, and have strived to maintain the high standards upon which it was built. Their work is a reflection of their father’s commitment to service and friendship. That’s why, when you face an important property purchase or sale in Green Lake, your first call should be to Dan & Debra Bierman.
“I grew up on Green Lake and I have spent my whole life on its shores. When I wake up each morning and see the lake, I can’t help but think about all the experiences I have had on or around it. It makes me feel very fortunate indeed. Life on Green Lake is unique and very special”
